"Parkhurst (verb) (to get Parkhursted): An interesting leave term option available at Dartmouth named for Parkhurst Hall, the building which houses dozens of domineering Dartmouth deans. To have the administration tell–not ask–you to take a bit of a vacation. Not advised."
"In his inaugural address on April 6, 1998, President James Wright declared that 'Dartmouth is a research university in all but name.' He has repeated his claim many times since, much to the dismay of some students who view Dartmouth's undergraduate college as its only feature worth mentioning. These students have reason for annoyance. It is a little silly to think Hanover might be home to a great research university."

"[M]any colleges and universities do not limit themselves to the narrow definition of 'harassment' that is outside the realm of constitutional protection. Instead, they abuse the term to prohibit broad categories of speech that do not even approach actual harassment. And they persist despite the fact that many such policies have been struck down by federal courts.
